چکیده
We propose an automated camera setup for photogrammetric roughness analysis in the laboratory environment. The developed fast and low-cost automation can be very useful tedious laborsome manual field logging practices. photographs are processed MATLAB to obtain disparity maps. Coding routines stereo photogrammetry digital measurements written MATLAB. Secondly, 6 effecting factors (projecting image onto core face, depth of field, brightness, camera-to-object baseline distance ratio, projected size, occlusion) influencing noise maps computed by employing investigated. After deciding best values that allow lowest amount noise, faces computed. Using 3D point cloud generated, profile made. Then, 8 made each both manually digitally. accuracy has been verified comparing 48 joint coefficient (JRC) using a gauge. It was proved surface measured millimetric with average root mean square error (RMSE) 3.50 absolute (MAE) 3.02 help proposed set-up calibration.

Soil surface roughness quantification using DEM obtained from UAV photogrammetry
The soil surface roughness is one of the most susceptible to variation in time and space characteristic, and depends on many variables like cultivation practices or soil aggregation. Various indices are used for its quantification, in microscale soil roughness is commonly expressed by HSD calculated from DEM of small sample area. The source of DEM can be close range photogramethry or laser scan...
متن کاملMeasuring glacier surface roughness using plot-scale, close-range digital photogrammetry
Glacier roughness at sub-metre scales is an important control on the ice surface energy balance and has implications for scattering energy measured by remote-sensing instruments. Ice surface roughness is dynamic as a consequence of spatial and temporal variation in ablation. To date, studies relying on singular and/or spatially discrete two-dimensional profiles to describe ice surface roughness...
متن کاملAssessment of Dem Quality for Characterizing Surface Roughness Using Close Range Digital Photogrammetry
This paper presents a procedure for assessing the quality of a digital elevation model (DEM) which has been applied to the output of a normalized cross correlation based stereomatching algorithm. Using semimetric photography of natural gravel river bed surfaces acquired in the field, digital photogrammetry was used to extract DEMs automatically for use in characterizing surface roughness proper...
متن کامل“Roughometer”: Realtime Roughness Calculation and Profiling
A software tool capable of determining auditory roughness in real-time is presented. This application, based on Pure-Data (Pd), calculates the roughness of audio streams using a spectral method originally proposed by Vassilakis. The processing speed is adequate for many realtime applications, and results indicate limited but significant agreement with an internet application of the chosen model...
متن کاملFractal-wavelet-fusion-based re-ranking of joint roughness coefficients
Nowadays, Barton’s Joint Roughness Coefficients (JRC) are widely used as the index for roughness and as a challenging fracture property. When JRC ranking is the goal, deriving JRC from different fractal/wavelet procedures can be conflicting. Complexity increases when various rankings outcome from different calculation methods. Therefore, using Barton’s JRC, we cannot make a decision based on th...
